Hey, I'm a junior right now. Just looking for some safety schools for Engineering and Computer Science majors because those are the two I was thinking of going into. I really like math and science.

GPA:
-4.431 weighted
-3.96 Unweighted
Class Rank: 13/491
State: MO
ACT composite: 32
ACT writing: 7 (Planning on taking again to bring at least this up)
EC's:
-Tennis will play for 4 years, made Varsity Sophomore year
-Robotics, joined Sophomore year. Will participate for the rest of my high school career.
-National Honors Society
-Cross Country Freshman and sophomore year (didn't enjoy it anymore and didn't want to struggle through something I didn't like just to look slightly better to colleges)

So yeah, I would appreciate any recommendations on schools. They don't have to be safety schools but I've got a good amount of top schools picked out so far.

Any recommendations on things I should work on to increase my chances would be appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't taken the SAT yet but I plan on doing so.

Well I’ve wondered about Mizzou, the only problem I have with that is that it seems like everyone from my high school goes there and I guess that kinda bothers me.

Case Western Reserve University looks nice, I’ll check it out.

I’ve been to Rolla and it’s just too isolated for me. I don’t think I would be able to handle it. It’s definitely a nice school, just not really for me.

in the same boat as the OP - looking for safeties – NOT the top rated engineering schools. The highest rated engineering schools are easy to find. We are specifically looking on the east coast (including southeast).

Virginia Tech, Minnesota, and Cal Poly SLO may be worth a look to see if your credentials are sufficient to be “safe” for admission there. Out of state list price is lower than at many other public universities.

To be a safety, the school must be affordable under pessimistic financial aid conditions.
