Since this info has been released in the media I feel comfortable in sharing part of an email the parents of CGA got from Capt. Wisniewski, the Commandant of Cadets, regarding recent events at the Academy:

Points to Ponder:

What we do and what we say matters, and we are accountable for it.

Academies are newsworthy since we are held in high esteeem by the public. When we appear to fail in that trust, it correctly is a news story.

“Creating a climate of respect” isn’t lip service. Every member of our unit must be valued for what they are and what they offer, or mission accomplishment suffers.

We can and will improve. Let’s use this energy and scrunity as a positive force for discussion, policy improvements, better training, and an improved climate as we graduate Leaders of Character.

Final Thought: Character is tested in time of adversity, not in time of calm. If we keep the Core Values as our foundation, and adhere to Service policies and procedures, we cannot fail this character test.

Well written and thought out. Good job, Captain!
