I was accepted to SAIC early action in December with a presidential scholarship of $27k a year. Today, I got an invitation to their First-Year Scholars program. Apparently only two percent of admitted students are invited. Has anyone else had experience with this program? If so, is it a good experience, and is it really as selective as they say it is?
Right now, SAIC is not high on my list because I would prefer a smaller city and despite having given me the highest amount of scholarship, I still have cheaper options, public and private. It’s not completely crossed off, though, and this program seems interesting.
i also got the invite to join, i will say that it seems like a good program and even if you sign up, they say that’s it’s not binding and it’s just something to put on your resume later, i do have a question for you, i got the presidential scholarship too regular decision, but on the email they said it’s only for 50k for 4 yrs and 12 per year, i did notice that it’s based on the number of credit hours enrollment and it’s just an estimated sample allocation, did you get more when you specify you hours of enrollment, because the website said it’s supposed to cover 50% of the tuition, can you help a fellow student out
Does anyone here have first hand experience with the SAIC First Scholars Program? My son got in with a great Presidential Scholarship too. Would love to hear from someone who may have gone through it or attends.
