Same undergrad and grad school, good or bad?

Is it a bad idea to go to the same undergrad and grad school in engineering. for my case it would be johns hopkins.

i like the department/profs here a lot and am seriously considering this. are there any major advantages/disadvages that i could be missing with doing this?

also, would the admission process differ if i were to stay at the same school such as not submitted gre scores or teacher recs? (granted, i'll be asking some profs this question when i go back but just curious if anyone had any experience with this).

thanks in advance

I think that you still have to be admitted to the program through the usual avenues of admission like with GREs and such, but that probably varies from program to program...

I don't think it's a bad idea, if you really like a particular vein of research that a particular professor is doing. Hopkins has a great engineering department.

Say hi to Dr. Nick Jones for me... he was going to be my research advisor 'til y'all stole him back from UIUC!

Thanks, I know you can be admitted to the 5 year program with no masters so I was kind of figuring the same would be true for grad school.
