SAMS at Carnegie Mellon 2019-2020 Discussion

I got in yesterday too!!

you will receive an email from Carnegie Mellon Pre-College program saying that the was an update on your portal. If you donā€™t receive that email then your portal will just remain the same with the address and letters of rec.

@uhokay ^

@sophie1010 When did u submit your application?

@Liveluv I submitted my application on December 02, 2019.

@skskskandioop can you email me the link to the group chat at lspinti45@gmail.com

hey guys theyā€™re only accepting 75 students this year? Iā€™m still working on my app but I havenā€™t able to find time b/c of midtermsā€¦ at this rate would I even have a chance of being accepted?

@coconutfloat of course thereā€™s a chance, just email diane or someone and tell them why, make sure they know you want to attend, you got this

whoā€™s diane?

and why email

@Egar0325 ^^ who would be this ā€œDianeā€ that I can email? I tried emailing the standard precollege@andrew.cmu.edu but i donā€™t think iā€™ll get a responseā€¦

@coconutfloat I would recommend sending in your application asap. I donā€™t think they can really do anything without seeing your applications.

@collegebun Iā€™m trying, but Iā€™m still waiting on one teacher rec in the midst of midtermsā€¦ itā€™s been pretty crazy. Do you think the program is full already? Also does anyone know if itā€™s possible to send in scores after submission? Iā€™m taking the ACT on Feb 8th but I donā€™t wanna wait around for scores to come out to submit my app.

@coconutfloat I donā€™t think the program would be full in January., but you can call the SAMS program to find out. You can submit the application first without the recommendation letter. Are you a sophomore or junior? You can use your PSAT if you are a junior who has already taken the test. Gook luck with you midterm!

@coconutfloat Diane is the program director, go to the admitted students section and click on the handbook, her email should be on the first few pages of the handbook!!!

@collegebun @Egar0325 thanks guys! Also I have another question: we only have to submit one score? Should I submit my SAT or PSAT (1410 & 1320)

@coconutfloat I put all 3 of my psat scores (960, 850, and 1050)

Anyone submitted first week of January got the acceptances or rejections??

I havenā€™t yet

Any freshman who got accepted?
