OK, what kind of interest is there is meeting up in San Diego in June? Looking at Thursday-Saturday June 8-10 for lunch. Weekdays are always preferable to avoid crowds, but if that’s not good, then the Saturday would work. I’ll be back from my nephew’s wedding and husband will still be out of town at his reunion so it’s a good time for me.
So let’s find out who’s interested, which day works best, whereabouts you live in the very large county, and where you would be able to drive to meet. Back in 2016 we met at the Paradise Point Barefoot Bar. The Bahia has a newish huge outdoor dining patio now too, Dockside 1953. Both places have plenty of free parking and lovely views.
Another possibility is Liberty Station - Public Market https://libertypublicmarketsd.com/, or https://buonaforchettasd.com/officine-buona-forchetta/ or Restaurant | THE LOT San Diego | Movie Theater.
Looking further north, I would avoid anything too close to the coast due to crowds and parking issues. Suggestions near the 5 with parking are welcome. A couple of brunchy places come to mind: Homepage - Gold Finch Deli (not open Saturday) and Snooze A.M. Eatery | Breakfast in La Jolla

@Marilyn thank you for starting this for San Diego. I still work, but can make a weekday work if that’s what everyone wants to do. Fridays are good for me as I only work a half day. Any of the places mentioned above are good for me. We probably want to pick some place where they don’t mind if we linger for a while. Snooze is close to my house and has an outdoor area. Liberty Station has Breakfast Republic in addition to Bueona Forchetta and Carruth (wine and snacks).

Not much instant interest! I would volunteer my house to meet but I’m partway down the Point Loma peninsula, basically as southwest as you can get in this area. Next stop Hawaii! It would be some extra time for people driving in from elsewhere. We’re exactly one mile from the coast. I walked it - once - steep hill back.
I’m in North County, but i will drive anywhere.
Exceptions:
Reunion on June 23rd
Wedding in August at Bahia!
We can go to Liberty Station as I am really unfamiliar with it, other than Pinot’s Palette and Corvette Diner. Still don’t know how to get to the Diner, hence we never go. Closest I get to that area is Rockin Baja Lobster in Old Town.
I can go most weekdays.
Let me know.
I don’t know if @coralbrook can attend.

LOL, I can keep an eye on Pinot’s Palette calendar and see if there’s a nice painting up that Saturday at lunchtime. Their food comes from Solare, which is really good.

Just seeing this!!! Thank you, Marilyn
I live in LA - perhaps a mid-way point for we who are in the LA, or shold we have our own separate Meet-Up?
Rogers Gardens is beautiful
Much as I would love to meet in, for example, Laguna Beach, the drive times might be too much - especially with the frequent closure issues on the 5 lately. I would go north as far as Carlsbad.

Depending on a lot of things, I could make a meet-up in SD area. My sister lives there and I could go visit her. So it’s a strong maybe.

So far; I’ll bump periodically and see how things are looking in May. At present, I’m thinking Frinday June 9 lunch - somewhere in San Diego county.

I’m in for June 9th. I will pencil in that date and “await further instructions”.
Edited to Add: The Del Mar Fair starts on June 7th to July 4th. There will be extra traffic on I-5 during those Fair times.

Thanks for the heads up on the fair; that does create backups, but that stretch always seems to have backups! (Showmom is in La Jolla.)

@Marilyn June 9th works for me too.

They’ve loaded the Pinot’s Palette into June but not real thrilled with the specific paintings on June 9-10 so let’s stick with lunch June 9, place to be determined.

Well, as you can tell, I haven’t even opened up CC Parent Cafe for more than 2 weeks. I am slammed with a million projects right now but can carve out Friday June 9. Would prefer somewhere down near Point Loma because I will have to return to work that day because it’s payday for the guys!

Hi, cb! Keep meaning to stop by the site but getting ready for droopy eyelid surgery on Monday.
I’ll come up with some luncheon thoughts by mid-May; it will be a small group. But a fun one, I think!

Point Loma is good for me. Just as long as there is parking!

I am always cognizant of sufficient free parking!

My husband desperately needs this done! I need to talk to you about this!
For everyone else, it’s on my iCalendar! Just let me know where to drive.
Preliminary ideas; if anyone has a preference please let me know. All have nice outdoor venues where we can relax, and plenty of free parking. The first two of course have great views. Seems like there are only four of us:
@showmom858
@aunt_bea
@coralbrook
and me.

Solare or Officine Buona Forchetta in Liberty Station:
Can’t find a lunch menu for Solare but they open at noon on Fridays. https://solarelounge.com/
And the Officine website seems to be under cyberattack at the moment. There are photos of their menu on Yelp.
