I was wondering that too. The letter said I was part of a selected group or something like that. Were you asked to apply to Webers Honors College?

My son applied 10/14/16, but his portal still shows “pending”. He has a 4.02 GPA. I’m not overly concerned, as they are probably rolling the decisions out, but my question to all who have received acceptance in the last few days, how did it arrive? Email/SnailMail/Portal? Thanks!
@ProudCAMom - Son received an email letting him know he was accepted.
Thanks!

Good luck to all!
If last year is any indication, then some acceptances will come out today and for the next two days, and then the rest will be some time in Feb.
@ProudCAMom I got mine through the portal - no email or mail! I just checked it obsessively daily, haha.
@adjebroun I emailed admissions about a month ago and they said that they typically admit many OOS and “high-stat” applicants in December, offering many of them the opportunity to apply for the Honors College. It’s kind of their way to pull in out of state money early and get a competitive application pool for the Honors College.
Accepted
CSU GPA: 4.47
ACT: 33
Intended Major: Pre-Biology
CA Resident: Yes
Pretty psyched to finally be admitted to a college, still hoping for the UCs though.
Thank you. That would be us! Feels like I’m refreshing the portal and his email on an hourly basis. Not sure why. He has already been accepted to CO Boulder with scholarship, HI Manoa, and U of Oregon. I guess it’s my last ditch effort to keep him in CA. Haha
Decision: Accepted!
CSU GPA: 4.11
ACT: 33
Major: Civil Engineering
CA Resident: Yes
Congrats to everyone else who got in!
hi everyone!
it would be really helpful if y’all could state when you turned everything in (the application + test scores)
thanks so much
@mika17 I don’t think it has to do with when you turned you application in but more about your calculated Eligibility Index. http://www.csumentor.edu/planning/highschool/eligindexcalculator.asp As @luckymom22 posted, it looks all those accepted have an EI over 1100 (ACT).
@mik_a17: It does not matter when you turn in your application. @lkg4answers is correct in that is based on the eligibility index and high EI’s (4100+ SAT/1100 ACT) for in-state and some of the OOS applicants are notified early. I will also note if the OOS posts have the correct stats that EI’s of less than 1000 (ACT) and 4000 (SAT) have been accepted. The rest of the acceptances will be coming starting in February.
It seems as if they are targeting those that are candidates for the Honors College.
@Gumbymom or anyone, any idea how long they keep rolling out the admissions in December before stopping until February?
