@Nurse217 This is a freshman thread. The transfer thread is here: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/san-diego-state-university/1952573-sdsu-transfer-decisions-thread-fall-2017-p4.html
Anyone OOS been accepted for nursing?
My portal still says pending, what does that mean?
@Bella1108: Pending means no decision yet.
@rebeccamrude1234 I am so sorry about your denial. Our stats were very similar. The only pattern I saw is that all the nursing students admitted on this thread had 4.0 or above GPAs. The school of nursing also looked at rigor of curriculum (math/science) and making sure all the math/science classes had grades of B or better. If you feel strongly about your stats you could appeal!
@davisgirl ya i plan on appeal because my mom passed away from cancer last year which was when my grades started to get funky and my dad has a some health problems that gives him frequent strokes so maybe they will understand where i am coming from? what do you think?
My daughter was denied today for Kinesiology. We are in state.

Kind of confused why I was rejected considering that I am above their average and have 300+hours service hours lol
@bullseye4: Other an Cal Poly SLO, EC’s/volunteer are not considered in the CSU admission decisions. It is all based on GPA and test scores. It seems to be a pretty competitive and tough year for many applicants. With over 83,000 applicants and only around 26,000 accepted (Freshman/Transfers combined last years data) that is a lot of waitlisted and denied students.
@Gumbymom Hi, my portal was recently updated under the transcript status stating “Will be required to submit final transcript.” I wasn’t able to get a direct answer as to what this means besides having to submit my final transcript at the end of the year. My status still reads pending, so I am taking this with a grain of salt as a hopeful message? Any insight you may be able to provide? Thank you!
This means if you are accepted, you need to send in your final transcript after graduation. This might be automatic update for all applicants that have been accepted, waitlisted or still pending? Only way to know for sure is call admissions.
