Denied/Withdrawn Not Accommodated
CS
EI 4550
This was supposed to be my safety. Oh well.

D’s portal also changed to "Appl Withdrawn Not Accommodated’. What does this mean? It doesn’t mean they think she withdrew her application, does it?

@crockmom this is what the SJSU states it means:

Withdrawn Unaccommodated (WDUN), (WLUN), (WLNC)
Due to enrollment restrictions and space availability, the application has been withdrawn and will not be reconsidered.

@gumbymom -so no point in appealing?

to those who have been accepted, does it still say Dependent Household underneath the To Do List on the side?

There are a several posts now from people who did not get in but thought this was their safety. Some of the majors like CS were really difficult this year. I want to remind you that there are still plenty of choices in addition to a CC. Several good schools are still accepting applications and even giving out merit $. Don’t give up! See my earlier post and many others across the site where people are giving suggestions. A favorite with many CA kids is University of Nevada Reno who is accepting applications for a few more weeks. Good luck everyone!

to all those who did not get into sjsu there was a safety school which is sfsu which has less students than sjsu

@crockmom: You can appeal if you think that there was a mistake on SJSU’s part on reviewing the application or if you new and compelling information not available at the time of application. You can always call admissions to see if there are any options.

My son’s status changed today to “The status of your application is: Appl Withdraw Not Accommodated.” No other explanation. After Googling I believe it means it was not even reviewed due to the major he applied to. He didn’t want to go to SJSU so he picked a highly impacted major (i think it was Software Engineering). He got a 790 Math and in that department the EI score uses triple the Math score so we figured “why not?..”

My final comment about SJSU (and this is not really sour grapes since my son has already been accepted into Cal Poly SLO) is that their Administration needs to do a much better job. Why should I have to Google to figure out what their cryptic message means? If they have “withdrawn” the application should we get the application fee back? Ugh. What a horribly run admissions program.

My Eligibility index was 4406 over the 4300 minimum for my major. I also received the “The status of your application is: Appl Withdraw Not Accommodated.” Good thing I did not want to go to SJSU but people I know with lower stats have gotten in. Is my eligibility index too low for my major?

@OCDDad I totally agree with you.

@qwertty: What was your intended major since the EI thresholds jump up this year for many of the majors.

Here are the new thresholds for this year: http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultsfreshmen/

@qwertty - Are you looking at the 2018 Fresmen Impaction Report? My son’s score is right at the cutoff for 2018 Software Engineering (4200) but 300 points above the cutoff for 2017.

We have the same issue here, yesterday I had checked the portal, it was stated “Decision pending”, but now it has been updated as “Appl withdrawn not accommodated”. I would rather they rejected us than withdrew our application, which it sounds very rude and inconsiderate.

@Tulip02 - i read somewhere on this board that in a prior year someone had a serious medical issue and could not attend a “mandatory” orientation meeting. Despite the valid excuse, SJSU rescinded the offer. This combined with today’s non-sense really causes me to recommend others not apply to this school.

@Gumbymom & @OCDDad I applied for the Finance Major and I was looking at this year’s Freshman Impaction Report. I applied to the Business Admin. Finance and my EI was 4406 and the minimum was 4300.

@qwertty: Other than not meeting the CSU requirements, the only other explanation is even though you were above the EI threshold, all spots available for your major will taken with applicants having a higher EI than yourself. I would call and ask admissions.

@OCDDad We had submitted all our documents before the deadline, and we have not received any message from portal or email to request any additional documents, if they think we don’t meet the minimum requirement, they can reject us, but can not withdraw. My D had been admitted by Purdue, OSU etc for CS major, I don’t think she could not compete with the other students who apply for SJSU.

I could’ve sworn I was over the EI but apparently not because I got my application withdrawn.

Gonna try and call tomorrow to figure it out but for now, it’s a shame I didn’t even get my application considered because of it.

to be real honest avillaav you got rejected and that is the end…try to see if sfsu accepted you…my gf got rejected too and she got into modesto stan
