Political science major want to attend law school afterwards currently live in Los Angeles so iwill be moving what school has a better political science program ? What city has better oppurtuinity for jobs?
It is a tossup. SJSU has access to high tech jobs in Silicon Valley. SFSU has access to jobs in downtown SF and some smaller high tech firm in the City. If you don’t have a car, public transportation in SF is excellent.
As far as the political science departments, I think they are equal. In fact, there is probably not much difference among the CSUs for political science.
Which city is better for political science careers/law schools ?
If you’re thinking poli sci without law school, then perhaps consider Sac State(?).
You’ll likely end up choosing the best law school you’re admitted to regardless of the school location and where you want to practice.
In Sacramento, you would work under state officials and governor. I believe SF has opportunities to work under the mayor or district supervisors or other areas. All these intern type jobs (whether at the state, country or city level) are probably difficult to get. If you have connections or know someone, it may be a little easier to get these jobs.
I don’t really have much knowledge about either schools regarding polisci but I know someone who went to SFSU and started making 80k a year his first year out of school (he moved to Sacramento for his job though)
What did he major in ?
