According to princeton review( <a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/generalinfo.asp?listing=1023567<ID=1%5B/url%5D">http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/generalinfo.asp?listing=1023567<ID=1) they have ranked: Dorms Like Dungeons...but i personally think is not that bad.
Stuff to do? Conveniency?

More to do off campus...Seattle is incredible city..

I can't comment on San Jose State University but i would choose UW over SJSU...what is your stats??

U-Dub -- it's a no-brainer. Most of the Cal States are commuter schools, so they empty out in the evenings and weekends. Seattle is a beautiful city, with restaurants & activities galore, but expect a lot of drizzle in the winter. The campus is right on the shore of Lake Washington. Also, great public transportation, which is important since I assume you won't have a car.

San Jose is just blah by comparison. U-Dub is also nationally ranked as a research university.

U-Dub actualy has a great neighbourhood surrounding it called the U Dist(I live in it). Everything in this neighbourhod is tailored to the presence of college students. It is also really convenient to get around because the U district area is a major hub for the city buses and you can be in downtown seattle in about 15 minutes by bus if you want. He U-Dub also offrs a U pass which gives you a subsidized bus pass for very cheap.

The U Dub campus is absolutely stunning,to dash across campus if your class is on th other side. A lot of people bring bikes to get to class, but because of a lot of reent thefts thats not the best option.

The main problem about U DUb is that it is so large people feel like they are only a number aongst thousands. The classes are huge and many of them are taught by TAs. However, on the flipside the education is damn good.

Getting into the UW is becoming more difficult though due to overcrowding, which has helped their exclusivity rating. So make sure your application is competitive!

Oh and the dorms actually got renovated recently and they are still doing more work on them. They are HUGE buildings containing tons of students though. If you arent satisfied with the dorms though there are so many houses that rent out rooms for cheaper than whatd you pay at the school anyways. There are so many large houses in the U Dist area that students often rent out houses together and look for roomates all the time. They verage around 360 dollars a month (this is what I'm doing). Also, the greek system is extesnvie here-we even have a street dedicated to Frats called Frat Row. So if that is something you are interested its certainly here.

also the cost to live in sjsu's dorm is a pain in the ass, room and meal alone cost me 10+k, im not sure if i want to get a loan for that.
So...Udub it is....

Thanks alot for the info guys :)
