Santa Clara EA 2022

@SgtFriar2015 your son sounds like a well rounded young man and would be an asset to any school he attends. Good luck to him and it’s Santa Clara’s loss.

The more I read the more dismayed I get in the college app process. My kid understands that at some point this is like the lottery. Seems like lots of great kids just don’t get in…don’t even get me started about athletes and legacy admits!

Amazing…DS just received a follow-up email telling him if he wants to still be considered for RD, he has to submit his most recent grades. Go pound salt SCU (with all due respect). Congrats to those who made it in, we’re heading to DC baby!

Wow, from reading these posts I have a feeling that my son would have been deferred last year even as a legacy applicant. Good luck to everybody.

I got accepted EA. They had a 20% increase in EA applicants this year so it was more competitive

Congrats @Anxiouschick, but I am fairly certain most universities had a spike in EA/ED/RD applicants…especially those tied to the common application. SCU is a great school and best of luck to all.

didnt get accepted. didnt get deferred. didnt get rejected… i didnt apply lol

Yield! I heard this year they are really focusing on admitting students that they are super confident will attend and passing over more qualified candidates (fearing they are looking at them as a safety school). Several people I know who are IEC’s are shocked at the Santa Clara results this year.

@valk502 - Mind if I ask…what is “IEC”?

I was accepted to SCU but I get everyone’s frustration. Fordham was my top choice and I applied ED but was deferred. The more I look into it, however, Santa Clara seems like a better school in a lot of ways. Things aren’t happening as I expected but I’m grateful for the acceptance
