Anyone applying here?

Is anyone else thinking of Santa Clara?

Guess not.

Yes, I am going to apply.

My son may. They have quite a few folks from HI there.

DD is applying to Santa Clara...it's her number one choice.

im planning on applying. it has a pretty strong reputation around the seattle area. what other schools are you thinking of applying to?

i am applying early action! it is GORGEOUS there... i'm applying to emory early decision as of now, so its kind of a back up, but theres a part of me that wants to go to SCU more... have you looked at pictures of that campus and downtown? ive never even been there but its amazing. plus i have a friend who got into emory and scu and chose scu, and she absolutely loves it!

EA application sent...the waiting now begins....

Ah...I just checked the weather report at Santa Clara....74 and clear skies. Man, it sure beats 50 degrees and rainy.

Santa Clara's my #2, after Stanford. What can I say? I was sold on both schools when I drove up to both of them and saw the palm trees.

Yeah, I'm applying to Santa Clara as well.

You can add me to the list too.
As of now, USC is my number one choice, and stanford (no business though) and Santa Clara (EA, and love them palm trees) as well as UOP (pharmacy program) rounds up the top 4 choices on my list.

applied ea

application is in. definitely my top choice. communications program is outstanding, great location too. im visiting next weekend. hopefully we all find out before christmas.

I sure hope everyone hears before Christmas. DD's application is there and all the other "stuff" too. She called last Friday just to make sure. It's her number one choice also. Keeping fingers crossed that her 1200 CR/Math SAT, 8/194 class rank and GPA of 3.87, plus that we are from the Northeast will be sufficient for an EA acceptance.

yea. i am sooo nervous. i have a 1370, 1000 hours of volutneer work, 3 years of student government, and a Model UN award, but my GPA is only a 3.25. i dont know how ill be able to wait for another month! I just visited the campus and it was a perfect environment for me. if i dont get in ill transfer there asap.

^you don't really have anything to be worried about.

thanks holden. i appreciate it. what have you heard about scu admissions?

i have taken tours and spoken with admission officers at scu. average old sat for last year was around 1200, avg gpa around 3.5. i think your relatively high sat (being about 170 points higher than average) will make up for your gpa. your community service is also great. i also applied ea; love the environment likewise.

yeah the so called average gpas they give are usually inflated anyways, you're good.

What about for CC transfers, because I currently have a 2.8 and I know I can bring it up to a 3.0. I don't know if I will be able to get it up to a 3.3 to sign the TAA..
