|| Santa Clara University Waitlist 2021 ||

I was waitlisted at SCU and thought I’d make a discussion for others in this situation.

My D was also waitlisted. Is there still a chance?

I was waitlisted too… a bit surprised but it is what it is :frowning:

Waitlisted as well. Is there any purpose to even accepting the offer if I don’t believe I’ll end up going to Santa Clara?

It says that 80 students on average are offered spots on the waitlist. This doesn’t mean much to me considering I don’t know how many people are waitlisted in total, but still seems pretty low

My son and his friend also got waitlisted today. Agree that telling them 80 applicants get offers on average is not helpful to anyone since they don’t say how many are on the waitlist.

I’m on here as well. On the college board big future thing it said that 1364 people accept waitlist positions and from them 199 are accepted. https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-university-search/santa-clara-university Good luck to everyone, hopefully we can all get in!

The common data set has info on the waitlist as well as lots of ther useful data.

https://www.scu.edu/media/offices/institutional-research/facts-amp-figures/academic/Common-Data-Set-2016-2017-wo-Tuition.pdf

This is for 2016-17.

But you can find other years on Santa Clara’s website or you can google it.

Does accepting your position on the waitlist just mean that you want to be considered? It isn’t binding, right?

Waitlisted too. Do not hear until July 18!
They school will know on May 2 who will accept their offers. Why the wait?

o

Waitlisted to engineering. Quite confused how the waitlist works at SCU, but I know it’s not ranked according to the decision letter online. Is it by whoever accepted to be on the waitlist first (first come first serve basis)?

Correct, you ate not binder, because you don’t know what kind of financial package you will receive. Commit to one school and wait for SCU.
You will know by mid May.

No, it depends on how many are waitlisted for business, engineering, and other schools.
Most if the waitlisted is for engineering and business, as these are the toughest schools to get in.

I’m not sure the July 18 date is correct. They know who is coming by mid May. I would certainly not wait until that late of a date.

Is anyone going to one of those “waitlisted” student receptions? Is it even worth it?

My D is going to the one in AZ. Can’t hurt.

If anything, going shows demonstrated interest. If it’s not inconvenient, attending is worthwhile

I’m not accepting my position so hopefully this helps out someone else.
