How many people were waitlisted at SCU last year?

And how many were taken off the waitlist from last year? Thanks!

might be tricky to find this info!

a friend of my daughter’s was waitlisted at Santa Clara 2 years ago, and got in by mid-May. I have heard lots of kids getting into private schools (not Ivy, Stanford, though) off the waitlist. I think the schools use it a lot - but every year varies a lot. with the trend of kids applying to so many schools, I think waitlists are getting used more, as the schools have a harder predicting how many kids will actually enroll from the admitted pool.

Good luck! Definately work it and be in touch with SCU!!

I’m going to take a guess. SCU had a very high yield the year my kiddo was a freshman (2006). In fact, the freshman class was overenrolled by about 100 kids…a huge amount in a class that only has 1200 or so. There were forced triples that year and it was quite the scene. My understanding is they have been more conservative with their acceptances so that their classes are not overenrolled.

So…hang on…my guess is as they hear from students who choose NOT to enroll, they will tap into that waitlist.
