<p>One of the big things keeping me from submitting my SIR right now is the worry that SC housing is expensive outside of dorms. Can anyone give me more info on this?</p>
<p>Do you means apartments on campus or off campus?</p>
<p>SC housing can be expensive, but it really depends on your living arrangement and how good you are at finding deals. I’m paying about $800 including utilities for my house right now. I’ve seen apartments and some houses go for around $400-500 for single rooms, but those are usually taken REALLY fast. I’m pretty selective when it comes to housing because I wanted a quiet location, great house mates, my own room, and somewhere close to campus.
Try going to craigslist and do a couple of searches to see for yourself.</p>

<p>And man, 800$ a month is pretty steep. Hopefully I’ll be one of the lucky students who find 400$ apartments. I searched on craigslist earlier and found a lot of 1000$ ones; that’s what made me extremely cautious in the first place. Thanks for the input!</p>
