How can I improve my SAP Appeal? The appeal is posted down below.
I failed to meet SAP requirements because I changed my major. After taking several classes in the biology pre-med pathway, I concluded that this was not the career that I wanted to pursue. As a result, I was burdened by the feeling of failure and the stress of this very demanding pathway. Consequently, I felt transferring to the University of Tennessee at Martin would be in my best interest with my new major. As a result, I decided to withdraw from my classes in the spring of 2019.
After having spent several months away from Murray State University, I now know Murray State is the best setting for me to excel in my new field. While completing several classes towards a health and human performance degree, I discovered a deep passion for exercise science. However, in the event this situation arose again, I know I am better suited to successfully manage this stress. While attending Murray State I did not utilize all of the resources at hand. Through my hardship, I have learned the importance of using these resources. The most important resource I have learned to use is my academic advisor. Another reason I know I will succeed in any future dilemma is my new found stress and time management skills. I have learned to successfully manage my stress by eating healthy, exercising, mediating, and having a unwavering support system. While having a part-time job while attending college at the University of Tennessee at Martin, I have significantly improved my time management skills. I have improved my time management skills by keeping a daily planner that prioritizes my tasks, setting deadlines for myself for schoolwork before the work is due, and waking up earlier to maximize my day. The resources I will use to help manage my situation is my academic advisor, the counseling center, and the department of education.
