Sapphire Leadership Program at PennState

Admitted to Smeal I have also been accepted to the Sapphire Program,
I was wondering from a students point of view what the program is all about:
work wise, internships, social life, housing, scholarships
Thanks!

So, I expect you’ve already checked out the website, considering you have applied and been admitted to the program, but incase you haven’t:

[Sapphire Leadership Program — Penn State Smeal College of Business](http://www.smeal.psu.edu/uge/sapphire)

As a recent Smeal Alumn (class of 2007, MIS) I can tell you this is one the most exciting new things they have done since I graduated.

Penn State, and more specifically the Smeal college of Business, have always done a great job of providing networking opportunities to their students, in terms of career fairs, information sessions, and special events. What they had not done (while I was there) was do a good job of teaching networking skills. The Saphire Leadership Program has, among other things, fixed this.

Also, the Director of the program, Gus Colangelo, was by far my favorite professor a Smeal. In addition to finding innovated (and fun) ways to teach the material, he also made addendance to class the highlight of my week. Even if the class was over a hundred people (which wouldn’t be the case for Saphire courses), I allways felt like I was learning something new.

Its a great opportunity, make the most of it!

you were admitted to Sapphire program. I thought we would get email soon.
Thanks

I did not receive an email yet. I know they were supposed to come by the 28th. I was really hoping to get it.
Thanks
