Sarah Lawrence business? Advice please?

liberal arts colleges don’t offer vocational courses but community colleges do (except for colleges that have a business dept). You’d probably take Introduction to statistical analysis during the year and take intro to accounting over the summer. You can take a maximum of two community college courses during the summer.

Although DD3 ultimately decided on another college this spring, SLC was right up there in 1st place for a long while. She researched it thoroughly and was bowled over with many ways faculty would work with the individual student to accommodate his/her interests. They have lots of exchanges with other colleges, institutes, etc., so even if you are technically at a small LAC, they have ample options to hook you into programs that will help you to take the courses you want and graduate with the expertise you wish. Her best friend did elect to go to SLC over a lot of other amazing places such as Carnegie Mellon. Advice: contact the professors and ask how they can help you. Share your interests. DD3 got nearly immediate, lengthy emails from more professors than she originally contacted, along with offers for phone conversations to follow up! I have to say I was really impressed with the amazing personal attention she received. Even though she will attend elsewhere, SLC remains dear to my parent-heart!

Um, there are no “majors” at SLC. You follow a course sequence that is “meaningful” to you. This dictates that you may explore entrepreneurship as well. I do think that there is an organization on campus called SLCeeds or something that was in the top 10 competing for a million dollar prize (The Hult Prize? something like that. Look it up.)

You are waitlisted? Do you need financial aid? If yes, SLC might not pan out, so plan well.

I got off(I’ll be attending)- no financial aid. Thank you for all your help guys!
