Sarah Lawrence or American University?

Which is better to get into NYU or Georgetown?

I would be studying Political Science.

Huh? Are you currently an admitted transfer applicant, or an admitted frosh applicant?

When choosing a four year school, you should make the choice as if you will graduate from that school.

Sarah Lawrence College has very limited political science offerings.

On the other hand, American University’s political science offerings are extensive:

The choice is obvious, assuming that American University is affordable.

@ucbalumnus Thanks so much. The thing is I didn’t get the grades necessary in high school to get into NYU or Georgetown… I want to end up in one of them so I am just looking for a stepping stone.

Why not just go to American University and graduate from there? The many political science offerings should keep you interested for four years.

Because I know I could get into a better school - one that has a better reputation. I want to go to the best school possible.

Schools take less transfers than entering freshman. Make sure you go to a school you like in case your transfer dream does not materialize.

American University is a great school for poli sci. That means a great place to get internships and hands-on experience! It would be a great school to graduate from (instead of transferring from it later on)
