I was accepted at Sarah Lawrence and am on the waitlist for NYU (arts and sciences). Still unsure which school I'd rather go to. I love Sarah Lawrence's campus, but I do really like that NYU is in the city. I am a harpist and I know that the opportunities for me as a musician would be better at NYU, but I love the people at Sarah Lawrence and the general environment. Help!

nyu is in the city. longterm living in the city surrounded by noise and such can make someone go deaf by a certain percentage. a harpist probably needs to retain all the hearing he or she can to really master the instrument. Therefore, a location more in the quiet of the country would be advisable. And with SLC's proximity to the city, I'm sure you won't miss an opportunity to go to the city when you can. I just imagine it would be nice to sleep where you can have true silence.

i got into NYU Tisch for Dramatic Writing and Sarah Lawrence. SLC is giving me a ton more money than NYU but will it provide the same payoff after i graduate?

^^^love your sn; i HATE collegeboard too.

i know someone at sarah lawrence right now and she LOVES it. she is currently during a year abroad at oxford in england where she hopes to pursue a graduate degree.

My son was choosing between the same programs. He decided that he wasn't ready to commit himself 100% to being a writer, which the NYU dramatic writing program demands, and is extremely happy at SLC where he is writing a lot, but also exploring other subjects. He has no regrets.
