SAT: 2010, ACT: 28.... or: wait, is that correct?

so i have seen ACT and SAT score comparisons and i am really not sure about something

a 28 ACT is equivalent to a ? SAT

at 2010 SAT is equivalent to a ? SAT

and HOW do you determine which to send in?

(FYI im going to post in the SAT prep forum as well.)

thanks :-)

well according to this one chart i looked at, a 28 act is equivilent to an 1860, an a 2010 is equivilent to about a 31...but this could be inaccurate

According to the University of California's charts, a 28 on the ACT maps to the range 1920-1970 on the SAT and a 2010 on the SAT maps to a 29 on the ACT.

UCs concordance is much closer to current schools' internal tables.

oo alrite because alrite because when i look at a lot of the stats on the college board etc the ACTs always seem a lot lower than the SATs....maybe because the majority of the students enter SATs? Im not sure.

so i just wasnt sure if you had an ACT i.e. 28 and the college had a 25th percentile of 27 and a 75th of 30 and then for SATs....you were slightly LOWER in the SATs for that school's percentile, then would you enter you ACT even if it was, comparably, not TECHNICALLY as good as your SAT?

kind of confusing...yet im not sure. but what you all are basically saying is, comparably, my SAT is better than my ACT...so i should go for that?

why don't you send both?

thanks for the advice....happy thanksgiving!
