SAT/ACT in admission decisions

I took both tests and did better on the ACT (35E, 34M, 32R, 34S, 34comp) than the SAT (680CR, 730M, 780W, 2190comp). How do admissions officers deal with this? Do they consider only my ACT or do they look at both tests? I guess my question applies to other colleges as well but especially MIT because that is my first choice. BTW, my gpa backs up my ACT score (4.0 UW, 4.3W)

They look at your SAT only if you submitted both and disregard the WR section. This is usually done at the Ivy League colleges.

no some colleges weight them, so they take a combo, or whatever is better, I would send both

At MIT, they will consider only your ACT score, since it is better than your SAT score.

Q. Do you prefer the SAT or the ACT?

A. We honestly have no preference. If you submit both, we will use whichever scores that make you look best.

^ that's pretty much the policy with all colleges now
