For those of you that have taken the SAT and the ACT, do you find that the math is similar on these tests? Would studying for the SAT math help with the ACT math?

I've taken practice ACT tests and the PLAN (preACT) test and score perfect on the math sections. While the SAT math is tricky, the ACT tests I've taken require a bit more knowledge/experience of math subjects but are generally very easy.

Overall, the math sections are similar, but the ACT seemed much more straightforward (less logic). If I was going to take the ACT (which isn't happening) I would stick to ACT math practice. Doing too much SAT math can lure you into thinking that an ACT math question is trying to trick you when that is not the case.

That's a really good point.

The ACT math tend to be a bit more long-winded but generally, they are easier. You need to know the concepts and formulas but once you have that down, it's really easy.

I thought the SAT math was really easy. I didn't run out of time (which I did with ACT) but I don't have my scores yet. Watch me totally bomb the math part. Hehe.
