Subject Test Scores:
750- Math I, 760- U.S. History, 740- Physics, 690- Math II, 650- Chemistry, 680- Biology

Applying to SEAS

The website states that ACT can be used to replace both SAT and SAT IIs but is this the right decision in my case? Will my math ability be questioned if I submit my SAT IIs?

I am definitely submitting my ACT but should I submit my SAT scores as well? Help Please.

i wouldn't submit SAT if I were you. Your mathII is gonna hurt if you do. And your science SAT's aren't very good.

It's better to let them wonder then to let them know you actually have really low science/math SAT's. They will probably think you are pretty good at math/science from your ACT's

I think your scores are pretty solid. Submit both because Penn will like to see how your ACTs compare to everyone else's and get as much info on you as possible.

Also, remember Penn actually has a lower scoring range than some non-ivies just because they know the kids they admit are more than just stupid numbers from a random Saturday morning. Put it in perspective: this is not the beginning and end of your app.

hmm...well im applying to wharton (possibly m&t) so i havent really researched SEAS much

but just my two cents....

you don't NEED really strong math/science but it would definitely help since Penn is a competitive school and if you want to get into a program heavy in math/science such as engineering I would think it would be difficult with bad math/science scores.

but if SEAS is what you are set on by all means apply to that.

just remember that SEAS is less competitive/easier to get into than the other schools, so your SAT II's won't make much of a negative impact. Send them both in. You want them to see your 800 math!

His CR and W scores are low for Penn also and do not support his good reading/english ACT scores.

I just don't think the SAT is gonna help you at all. Your only really good score is math 800, which isn't even a big deal because you already proved your math with a 36math on ACT.

I think it depends where you are from, if you are from the midwest it would be unusual to just submit the ACT but if you are from the east coast, it would be expected you would submit the SAT plus subject tests. I can't remember where I read this but there are stats out there that tell you ie that 17% submitted ACT only. That was just an example. If you fall into those catagories, I def would only submit ACT. The test are very different, ACT tests learned knowledge, SAT is more natural aptitude.

eh..ACT only it shows all ur positive aspects especially science/math...SAT will probably hurt engineering...especially the science and math ones..
