Do i have to put the dates i took the SAT even if I'm only going to send the ACT to my CommonApp schools?

Also, I know that Penn requires all your scores be sent in, so will I have to put the dates of the SAT? And wont that then send those dates to all the schools, not just Penn?

I was actually curious about this as well, for example with the ACT if you don’t report your scores to your high school or any college, do they have to be reported? Is there any way of them knowing you took it?

your self reported dates and scores are really up to you and you can select how to report them on a school by school basis. for nearly all schools you do not have to send in all your scores and you do not have to self report all testing dates. a few schools do request “all scores” so you have to be alert to what they request and you should comply and be honest in your response. if your scores don’t appear on your transcript and you dont send them to the schools or self report them on the application, the schools will not find out.

ok so if im not sending the SAT to three of my schools i dont have to put the dates i took it? But my main problem is that for Penn, which requires all scores, i will have to enter the dates i took it on the commonapp. But this is the part of the app that gets sent to all my schools, so im a little confused still?

I’m not trying to hide anything from Penn, i just dont want to put the dates I took the SAT for the schools that dont require all my scores.

if this is really important to you, you will have to wait until Oct 19. At that point a feature of the common app will go live that allows you to save different versions of your application for different schools. You will first have to submit your application to one school and then you’ll be able to save different versions for different schools. there’s an explanation of how to do this in the faq on the common app.
