Hi All,

When you submit your application when do you send in your SAT/ACT scores? Do you request they be sent BEFORE you actually apply or after you submit your application? And, if you are going to take the ACT for the second time in September, can you re-send them again?

Thanks for your help.

Oh, goodness . . . you’re way behind schedule then! You really should have started no later than the end of July! :D

It doesn’t matter when scores get sent (as long as they make it to the school by the school’s deadline). The schools are very good about starting the applicant’s file with whatever piece arrives first . . . and they just keep it open until all the other pieces arrive. There’s usually also a place on the app to indicate future test dates, so the school knows that additional scores will eventually be arriving.

Thank you dodgersmom. I appreciate it. DS has already started the application process. I hope I’m not too far behind.

For ACT, you pay for each score submission. For SAT, you may wait till you take the last one (or include in the registration of the last one) as it is cumulative including SAT2. You can submit the score anytime before (even slightly after) the application deadline. If your child is going to retake ACT this month, just put 4 schools down for free score submission. You have a week after the test to decide.
