Sat ---> act

My son has taken the SAT twice and has done a lot of SAT prep. He's thinking of trying the ACT to see if he can perform a little better with the different format. His SAT scores aren't bad, but he doesn't test as well as he scores on practices. He begins his senior year this week.

How much specific ACT prep would you have him do? He's planning one more go at the SAT in October. He would probably plan to take the ACT in October. The SAT coach he is working with does not know a lot about the ACT and is not prepared to do a prep session for it.

I like the ACT better than the SAT. I’m a math & science kind of guy. I took SAT once and didn’t like it; the score is not as high as my ACT convert to SAT score. I’m taking ACT again in 2 weeks to better my score from 31 to 33+. Your son can buy an ACT prep book or go to the library to check out the ACT format and get a feel of it. I didn’t goto any prep class/session, I jus practice it from the prep book.
