My daughter is very disappointed at her SAT scores and she is reconsidering applying EA in order to take the SATs again.
She has a 4.4 GPA
SAT 1350
A very rigorous course work
6 APs
15-20 volunteering hours per year.
She wanted to apply EA for Northwestern, USC and UCLA but with is reconsidering so she can re-take SATs.
Should she still apply now?
Thanks for your help
Does northwestern have EA? I thought they only had ED
And there’s no EA (or ED) at USC or UCLA either. She can still take a later SAT, but will have to send the test scores without knowing how she did. Here’s what UCLA says on their website: We will consider ACT/SAT scores from tests taken through the first week of December, but you must request that your scores be sent to our office directly from the testing agency. ACTs/SATs taken after that date will not reach us in time to be included in the selection process for admission.
@DramaRama has she taken the ACT? Many students do markedly better on one over the other. In S’s case-he did way better on the SAT; but my D (the fine arts kid) scored WAY better, comparatively, on the ACT. If she is going to continue to test anyway, the ACT may be worth one shot.
