SAT and Transfer Students

My question is simple, but I can be long-winded...
When I was in high school, I didn't really care about grades or really anything. Now that I have been out for a few years, and am not in the Army anymore, I have realized that I should take things seriously. I have maintained a 4.0 for the last three semesters at a community college and want to transfer to a good school in one more year. I was looking over some SAT and other scores. Can I retake my SAT tests before applying, and if so, would that appear good or bad in the eyes of those reviewing my application?

That is something you need to check with particular colleges you are considering because it sounds like you will be transfering into junior year in which case some colleges require the SAT to be submitted, and usually will take one that you take while in community college, while many others neither require nor consider the SAT for such junior transfers (they go by college record), in which case it would be a useless act to take it.

Thank you very much! I will talk to them and find out what steps i need to take.
