SAT break times and the variable section

Hello everyone !
I would like to know the sat break times ( when or after which sections, how many and how long ? )
Couldn't find anything accurate on google... oh and may we bring snacks with us ? Taking a long test makes me somewhat hungry :P
Also they give us a variable section, is it counted in the end ? and is it a 25min long section ?
Thank you !!

After sections 2, 4, and 6 (sections 7-10 are fairly short).

Don’t remember how long the breaks are, but I think they’re usually a minute or five minutes. You can bring snacks.

The experimental section is 25 min long and doesn’t count towards your score.

Here is a breakdown of a 10-section SAT:

Section 1. 25 minute section: Essay
Section 2. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing

5-minute break

Section 3. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing
Section 4. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing

5-minute break

Section 5. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing
Section 6. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing

5-minute break

Section 7. 25 minute section: Math, Reading, or Writing
Section 8. 20 minute section: Math or Reading
Section 9. 20 minute section: Math or Reading
Section 10. 10 minute section: Writing

(The experimental will be somewhere in sections 2-7.)

Snacks are OK (for use only during breaks). I suggest bringing a bag of some kind to store snacks, extra calculator and/or batteries, and cell phone.

Be careful with the cell phone. I heard that wasn’t allowed.

I think on my first SAT I had about 3 breaks.

In the Blue Book, they have 9 sections ( the variable one is deleted ), so I’m glad I was taking the breaks as they give us in the real SAT test.
Thank you all and yes cellphones are not allowed, I can see the warnings on my admission papers.

^It is certainly safest not to bring one at all. But, the prohibition is really against the use of the phone. From the SAT Standard Testing Room Manual:

“Students must power off any prohibited devices and store them away while in the test center.”
