SAT Cheaters Caught...

I wanted to relay a story that happened to a friend who is an SAT tutor. While he was getting his car registered at the DMV he was told that he would have to return b/c he didnt have exact change for the payment. When he returned the line was significantly longer than it was when he left, needless to say he wasnt happy at this development.

While waiting in line, someone cut in to speak with the attendant, making his wait even longer, thus exacerbating his already agitated state. Because of this, he decided to eavesdrop on the conversation. Turns out that the kid who cut in had a passport sized photo of himself and the attendant was placing the photo on top of his school ID. Hence one person was going to take the SAT for another student by using the other student's school ID card but with his pic.

Something on the paper they were exchanging caught my friend's attention, and he suddenly realized that they were going to cheat on the SAT. Since he was ticked off about having to wait so long he decided to shave a few years off each of their lives.

He walked up to the two kids and stated that he was a code enforcement officer for the College Board (Total BS) and said that if he found them at UM the next morning, he would ensure that they both would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Although he didnt actually go the next morning, he is pretty sure they were not there either. So occasionally there is justice in the world.

Lol Owned!!

Powned?...

That problem goes beyond just SAT cheating. Photo ID's go pretty far these days, and if it's that easy to get one with someone else's picture, we have a serious problem.

On the other hand, this is one step away from being urban legend material.

wow. i'm in love with your friend.

when i was taking it once, this guy right next to me came back to his essay during breaks and also during other sections. i told him quietly that he cant do that, but didnt do anything else about it.

Well I wouldn't care. It's not as if someone else's scores affect my own all that much.

gj12789. it would affect you if they got into the college you wanted to go to but didnt get into b/c of their SAT score...unless you have a 2400. =P

That never happens.

Even if you have 2400 it would affect you if the person also gets 2400 by cheating. Even if the other person gets only 2200 and you get 2400 it would still affect you. He may somehow get to be a doctor or nurse and when you go for your surgery, screw you up because they are dumb but cheated to get the degree.

not to play the devil's advocate or anything, but i guess i didn't realize the ability to perform surgery requires extensive knowledge of english punctuation rules and word congruency

not to sound idiotic, but again, that never happens.
