SAT critical reading questions

Hello fellow College Confidential Users. I am about to be a sophomore next year, and I will take the SAT for the second time. THe first time I took the SAT , i got a score of an 1880(670 on Math,650 on writing and 560 for reading). For the past summer I've been working to improve on each section of the SAT. I feel very confident on Math and Writing, but, however, I do not feel that confident on reading. Every time I practice on critical reading, I always miss about 3-5 questions a section. I find that I usually do well on passages I like. I think that my problems are not liking a passage and mainly not knowing how to solve the different types of critical reading questions. Can someone please tell me the different types of critical reading questions and how to solve them?

You have a couple of years yet, so the advice I always give is applicable to you. If you want to do well on Critical Reading, what you have to do is read a lot of good English prose. This is especially important if you are not a native speaker of English. While sample tests are useful, their value is limited if you do not have a good familiarity with a lot of good English. Read different things–I like to suggest magazines like the New Yorker, newspapers like the New York Times, and relatively recent novels and nonfiction books.

is there anything else I can do in addition to reading good prose?
