Hey I'm a junior who will probably take the new SAT but is trying to get good old SAT and SAT II Writing scores just in case. I took the SAT I in Nov and got a 1550, but I also signed up at that time for Dec just in case. Since 1550 is a good score that most people say don't retake, I was going to switch the Dec. SAT I to SAT II Writing, but it turns out it is too late for that now. Should I go ahead and take the Dec SAT I in search of the elusive 1600 (I have a 800 M 750 V now and I've made 800 V in practice before, so I could maybe even go for a 1600 composite) or should I just forfeit my registration fee and sleep in?

Begging won't get you in.

sorry- I don't understand...the crux of the question: should I retake a 1550 since I have already paid and stuff, or not. I should add that I am interesting in applying to HYPS, Ivies, top 25, etc

go ahead and take it. you never know. a 1550 is solid with a good resume.

Look at your name. Well, rather your first one.

As I said before, begging won't get you in.

Screw it, just sleep in.
