I took one of these practice tests and was graded as follows in the essay section:
Reading: 7
Analysis: 2
Writing: 6
Can you guys please tell me what does analysis score represent and how can I improve it?
Reading represents how well you understood the passage. Writing represents how well you organized and expressed yourself in your essay. Analysis represents how well you analyzed the rhetorical techniques and reasoning used by the writer of the selection. As far as how you can improve the analysis score, I can start by saying that you’re lucky in that the new essay is much more coachable than the old essay. You need to study rhetoric. The SAT Blue Book has an introduction to rhetoric and an explanation of how the SAT readers rate essays. Another good prep book is the McGraw-Hill book.
