Hi- I was wondering if some high SAT essay scorers could give me some advice. I'm usually a fairly good writer- I get A's in English and I read a lot- but I can't seem to pull my essay score above an 8. Even though I've practiced and practiced, nothing seems to work.

I have a feeling that there are some "tricks" to scoring well on the SAT essay. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Well, first of all try to realize who is going to read ur essay: TARGET YOUR AUDIENCE! (u r right, only two teachers who r running really short of time!)
So, just ensure that ur essay contains the basic elements. ( there's no problem if u want write a trad. five paragraph essay) English teachers simply love that! (doesn't mean that u r going to get 6 for that anyway!)
Don't really care about ur vocab if u don't have really strong points! STATE UR POINTS STRONGLY! That's all i can remember for this instance. I might write again w/ some new tips as soon as I remember!
