SAT essay = viewed by admssions?

"The essay portion of the new SAT is a welcome change in the eyes of colleges, but a scary uncertainty in the eyes of students and parents. No one wants to be a guinea pig, but the Class of 2006 has been given that task. Students are doubly nervous because this essay can also be viewed by admissions officers during the application review."

I have heard that our essays won't be seen by admssions, but I have also heard many similar to the statement above. Does anyone know? Personally I would love it if they saw our essays, finally the kids who actually write well would be seperated from those who have 10 people edit thier college essays.

I dont think the SAT essays judges how well you write; in fact, it only judges how well you think on the fly and how fast you write.

I am assuming they must be able to view your essay if they want to because one of the schools my daughter is applying to has discontinued requiring an essay for the honors college. They say that they will just review the essay that is part of your SAT or ACT report.
