SAT II/AP vs SAT I

When I took the SAT I in March, I got 760CR/770M/780W. The scores are good but from practice tests I know I could have done better (I got a 238 on the PSAT). The schools I plan on applying to are very competitive and I'm looking to major in math/science, so I have a few questions.

1) I kind of got screwed over in March: 1 math question wrong lost me 30 points. I just got my SAT II score back (May) and I got an 800 on Math 2. Will colleges consider that score more representative of my knowledge of math and effectively replace the 770 with it? Also, I got an 800 on Physics freshman year and am fairly confident that I got a 5 on AP Stats and AP Calc BC.

2) I was happy with my writing, but it was kind of disproportionally distributed: I got all the MC questions right and got an 8 on the essay (I didn't really know what to do with the topic and I'm a slow writer (as in I physically write slow) so 25 minutes is not enough). I just took AP English and I feel I did well on it, so would a 4/5 show colleges that I am, in fact, a competent writer?

I'm not really looking to take the SAT again, but I just want to know if good scores in other standardized tests can effectively raise my SAT scores so that I have the best chance at these colleges, especially for math.

...heads up, you're going to get flamed.

I suggest you use the search feature

I tried, but it's hard to find something like this. Most of the threads are about specific SATs or specific questions or whether or not to retake. I'm not looking to retake but looking to see if my scores on other CB-certified tests, SAT II/AP, will compensate for the main one, the SAT I.

And yes, I know these are good scores, but I've had a freak-out-about-college mentality drilled into me and I just want to make sure I have maximized my chances of getting in, so please don't flame me.

I got similar scores:
760 CR/780 M/800 W

Don't retake. It's pointless.

Trust me, I'm not looking to retake. I guess I'm just looking for some hope / reassurance that the other tests/scores might supersede the SAT in terms of importance in the application process.

They will :)
