SAT II Bio - pretty urgent

So, I signed up for the SAT II Bio for this Saturday, but I am only in an Honors Bio class (freshman) that covers Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, Genetics, Genetic Engineering, Protein Synthesis, Cell Cycle, and other basic biology stuff in a more advanced manner.

I have been studying with the prep book, but some of the stuff goes way over my head because there is just so much material to know. That being said, the test will probably kick my butt. But, I will take AP Bio during my junior year (my teacher is very good, and most get a 4 or 5 on the test). I have a few questions.......

Do all scores from tests administered by CollegeBoard show up on one Master sheet of paper (SAT, SAT II, APs, etc.)? Would a college see this first score if I did better on the test after junior year? If I didn't retake the test later on for some reason or another, would the score still be sent to the colleges that I apply to? Basically, how important is one SAT II test score, if I know I will take more than 3 later on and do significantly well on them?

Thanks for the help. :)

All SAT scores and SAT II scores are reported when you submit one of them, so yes, colleges will see ALL your SAT and SAT II scores (although most of them consider only your highest scores). AP score reporting is test-by-test (so they only see each individual test that you report) and optional.

When you take it, if you feel like you completely bombed it, you can just cancel the score.

thanks, i can now see the difference between SAT stuff and APs. Does anyone know if someone has been deeply affected by one bad SAT II score but has done more with good scores? I am looking at princeton and mit, but, like i said before, i would either retake the BIO test and do great the second time or take 3+ other tests with the competitive scores needed for those colleges. and, for clarification, you CAN cancel the score? if so, HOW?

I think this is a good reason to not take SAT II's until after the junior year.

ok, so is there anything i can do now that i am registered to take the test this saturday? what about Johnson181's comment on canceling the score. can someone please tell me what that means and how i can cancel the score if need be? PLEASE!!!!

^You can cancel the score for a few days after you take the test. I'm guessing you would do so on collegeboard's website, but I'm not 100% certain. Canceling means that it will not be scored, no college will ever know you took it.

nevermind, i looked on collegeboard.com and it said that you can cancel your score either on the test day or by 11:59 p.m. central time on the wednesday after the test day. i guess i will tough it out, and if it seems way too over my head, then i will cancel my score. this sucks, $21 down the drain (if i don't feel confident in my score...) :(

wow reversepsych, we posted at the same time :)

someone told me it doesn't look good when you retake sat 2's. idk, we were just talking about it in french class.

personally, i got a 670 from a regular biology class in freshman year. I know that isn't like "CC" level of greatness-but it's still pretty good. so my advice is that you suck it up and see how you do.

AP score reporting is test-by-test

No it is not.
One AP score report shows all past tests.

I'm taking the SAT II Bio this Saturday too, and I'm also a freshman who is finishing a intro honors bio course. It seems like we covered pretty similar topics in our classes. My teacher did an after school study session for a few weeks before the test, for people taking it, to cover at least some of the important topics we didn't get to in class. I've also been studying out of several review books and my textbook for the past month or so, and I think I'm doing ok. If I get in the low 700s, which I've been getting on practice test, like 730 or something as a freshman, will that look good for the top colleges?

definitely, from what i've seen. i envy you in the sense that my teacher didn't have after school study sessions and all. i don't know, i think i'll do my best and then stress until the wednesday deadline as to cancel my score or not. like i said, i will be taking AP Bio in a couple years (AP Physics next year, AP Chem junior year as well). i'll just do really well on those :) But i'll wait and see how i feel after test and then make a decision...hopefully, the test will go better than i anticipate...

I have a better idea.

Change the subject test there to something else you feel more comfortable in like Math I or Math II.
