Was it just me or was this test much harder then the one in 22 Real SAT II's? I took M.

It was super hard.. but then I started studying last night. -_-;;;;;;;; I hope I broke 600. I didn't cancel because I did well on my writing test.

Umm.. anyone else took Bio SAT II's? =p

i took bio m

graph killed me.

Graph wasn't that bad. The first 20 questions killed me.

If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the more difficult questions? Was there more organismal/molecular on it rather than plant bio/ecology?

I took it in October and November, and, both times, I felt it was 60-80% plant biology and ecology.

Some of the questions I remember:

*Gregor Mendel did not use this method.. choices were: phylogeny, cross-pollination,
pure-breeding, quantitative analysis?
*Chordata has no external skeleton?

Did he use phylogeny?

Yep, animals in Chordata have no external skeleton. They do, however, have an internal skeleton.

Am I the only person who didn't think this one was too hard? I found it much easier than the one in October...

Does anyone know if I send my scores to colleges before Wednesday and i don't cancel the bio...will bio show up?

that test was f u c k e d up! ppl at CB must have been drunk wen they wrote the test. seriously wtf?

maybe score of 500 will be the 99th percentile...who knows? So..anyone know the answer to my question above?

I put phylogeny because I didn't know what it was.

Does anyone else remember any questions?

I remember a grasshopper diagram.. I didn't think either its feelers or the eye was one of the answers..

Also, disease questions involved
malaria: caused by a protist parasite
smallpox: causative agent predicted extinct or something

coxpox helped cure smallpox cuz it was similar enough to stimulate immune system
umm there was a question whose choices were: fossil records, comparative anatomy,
nitrogenous bases, etc..

phylogeny is classification into like tree of life kinda diagrams. i didnt take the test but obviously mendel didnt use phylogeny.

Do you remember the experiment that compared the amount of hormone in blood, lung, and another organ. what was the other organ that was compared/ was it ureter or uterus? what was the hormone that was used in this experiment? Also, does anyone know the answers for the grasshoper questions?

It was uterus and the hormone spiked after ovulation, meaning it was estrogen or progesterone. I believe estrogen was a choice. For the grass hopper one, where were the legs connected, where are the reproductive organs, and where are the excretory organs were the questions. I put abdomen, thorax, thorax. (B,A,A)
For the disease questions, which disease is the greatest killer and which one is killed with antibiotics were the other two questions. I put malaria for both. It may be influenza and strep. I really don't know.

My Bad
For the grasshopper one, the answer was A (abdomen) for Reproductive and Excretory and B (thorax) for legs.

For the disease questions, I put malaria for protist parasite, strep for antibiotics, influenza for kills the most, and smallpox for being extinct except for reserves in two places or whatever that choice was. And the grasshopper one... I had no idea, I just guessed.
