SAT II Lit -- Recommended?

<p>I... am choosing whether to take AP Lit or Lang next year, and basically it comes down to this: </p>

<p>Why I want to take AP Lang: </p>

<p>Well I don't really like English -- heard it's easier</p>

<p>Why I want to take AP Lit: </p>

<p>So I can prep for SAT II Lit, but I don't even know if we "should" take it if we're not planning to do anything major in English. Is it going to give a boost in apps, or anything? Or else I'm not going to even try ... </p>

<p>Plus it's junior year. Which one's better?</p>

<p>If your school requires a third SAT II and you don’t really want to “study” a subject, lit is good if your CR skills are sharp. </p>

<p>Be forewarned, even an 800 SAT CR won’t guarantee a good score on SAT lit. My friend who got an 800 CR got only a 600 lit.</p>

<p>If you are good at CR (700+ on the SATs). then sat lit isn’t so hard (in my opinion). I.e., i got a 720 on my first practice test. But it’s different for everyone ;-)</p>

<p>You can definitely practice for the Lit test, more so than the CR test, and get a 650+ score.</p>

<p>Uh, if you have a 570 CR, then you will be utterly decimated by Lit. Stay far away until you have a 700+ SAT CR score.</p>

<p>You mentioned that you wanted a “5” an “A” and an “800”. Chances are, you’re not getting an 800. Less than 1% of test takers get it and the only people who take lit are badass at CR to begin with.</p>
