SO what is the curve usually like on the Lit SAT II. Im seeing that a lot of people had trouble with it and not just me.

lit usually has a relatively small curve.

I got a 750, but I was thinking I did terribly. So I don't know.

Ya...I've heard it's small all the time, and I really don't know why because subjectivity should play a role in it.

I don't think curves can be "small." Skewed right, yes (if you want to say that most people score poorly), or roughly normal (if you want to say that some 2.5% of test-takers score above a certain, high score, and the average score is around 500; it's 583 for SAT II Lit), but not small.

((I'm in a stats class right now... :p))

What I think you're trying to express is that few people score 800s. That's what I've heard, too.

750 = 94 percentile

whereas...

740 in math 2c is like 70-80something

delicious.

is there a website that i could check out? i would like to see the lit curve chart

See the high percentiles for the higher scores? It’s pretty hard to get a good score on the lit test.

i really don’t see why people even take lit! some of the others are REALLY easy, so why not just go for others? i don’t think people should take lit unless they know they can do well, and there are a few who have a knack for literature and can do that.

I took it because I wanted to take a test in the “humanities” and I didn’t feel like reviewing for a history test.

It’s odd that the Literature Subject test (which mostly juniors take) is offered when, for example, AP Literature is a predominantly senior class. After taking (and enjoying) AP English Language, I found myself struggling with certain questions, especially with the few that mentioned literary terms.
However, I am considering a major in English and enjoy poetry, so it only seemed natural that I should take the test. The way I view it, I could have done either horribly or extremely well.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that AP Literature is a senior class while AP Language is a junior one.
The majority of people at my school take Lit as a junior and Lang as a senior.
