Not from my point of view.... I got my highest scores there, even though it was the one where I did the least amount of preparation.

ok what study guide did you use, if any?

Just "Real SAT Subject Tests", but that is not so much of a recommendable book, because there is only one practise test for every subject.

For preparing for the SAT II Lit, how is the Barron's book?

The Barron's Lit Book is insanely difficult, I wouldn't reccomend it.

In that case, when choosing between Kaplan and PR, which would you get?

I'd get PR. I haven't used Kaplan's, but PR's is good and I believe it is the general consensus on here that it's the one to get. :)

I think Kaplan is the best book for the Lit SAT II. Barron's is too in-depth and unnecessary, and PR is too short and simple, IMO.

Practice tests are the best way to study, and Kaplan has the most tests out of those three. PR only has 2.

Yeah- I agree with x20Deepx. Go with Kaplan. That's what I used to study for Saturday's Lit test, and it gives a good overview of terms you need to know and it's eight practice tests are really, really helpful.

I got Barron's last week just to study from this week but I hate it. I absolutely loathe it because it has so much unncessary stuff - aubade?? - and it really annoyed me because it didn't even follow the format of the real test. The literature in the practice tests had titles and authors, and Kaplan specifically says only RARELY does the CB put the title of the poem on the test.

Anywho, go with Kaplan's. Haven't used the Real SAT II book, although I had wanted to, but nobody or no place around me had it.

i'm not sure if i should take this weekend's sat ii literature...i'm not good at reading...but when i took the practice test i got like a 600..im not sure if i should take it or not..i'm afraid i'llg et a bad score and that colleges will look at it

you could take ush... take whatever you're comfortable with!

All subject tests are 1 hour. AP tests are 3-4 hours.

I am not a native English speaker but I can get 70% right in CB guide--which makes me really excited..

However, can anybody tell me whether CB guide is easier than the real test???

thx a lot~!

The CB book is equal in difficulty.

Im kind of scared to take this test now. I thought i would be fine with just AP eng lang knowledge, but it looks like I should invest in the Kaplan book. Studying for this test was not my plan for Spring Break…oh well. College admission is much more important than a week of leisure.
