***SAT II Math October 2016 Discussion Thread***

This is where we will discuss the October test and share any study methods.

Anybody?

I remember getting 47.3 for that one question where it asked about the spotlight and the length of the flagpole after the spotlight was moved 20 feet. I got -24 for the first question. I got 3.41 for the question about the ratio of Mars’ to Jupiter’s length of rotation of in earth years. I got 6.44 for the question that was like 20 = 40*(e^.1t) * cos(2t). I got 13/25 for the light intensity question and 92 for the probability one, but Im not sure about that. Any input on whether you got similar answers would definitely be appreciated!!!

I didn’t answer the last 2 had 5 blanks total. I remember -24 and 47.3
What about the question about the interquartile range ?

What do you think the curve will be like ?

@please122 same for all of those although I forget the probability one. what was that?

@CrimsonZa I got 5 I think because it was q1 was 67 and q2 was 72

I got 5 for the interquartile range and I don’t know about the curve but I did the college board practice tests and missed 5, on both, but I ended up getting 790 on the first and an 800 on the second.

It said that a pizza could have 1,2, or 3 toppings, and there were 8 toppings total. We needed to figure out the total amount of toppings possible.

What about for
The number of lines that don’t intersect x2/x2-1

@CrimsonZa I said it doesn’t intersect at 2 lines

@CrimsonZa I got 2 for that because if you graph it, there are 2 vertical asymptotes, so there would be 2 vertical lines it would approach but never reach.

@abagul1 / @CrimsonZa can you list out the answers that you remember I want to compare :slight_smile:

I also got 1005 for the arithmetic sequence question and ~48 for the geometric sequence question

I got 5 for iqr
92 for possiblities
10.05 for longest side of triangle
And the last one I got 3.41
47.3 for the spotlight

@please122 I got the answers that were all listed above except for the light intensity one. I got 9.4 for that one. I don’ts want to discuss too much about the questions specifically because of CB’s rules

Did anyone get infinitely many possibilities for number of lines that do not intersect and only III for symmetrical with respect to origin

I got point and sphere for the two spheres with different diameters

I got 5 for interquartile range @CrimsonZa for

@introver I wrote infinite but I think it’s 2 now

I got a circle, point, and sphere for the intersection of 2 spherical objects - this is wrong though
