Hello,

I was told by the dean of the program to which I was accepted that I could be exempted from the two years of language required if I score above a 670 on the relevant SAT II. I am a 48 year old transfer student who would like to spend as many credits as possible on electives within my major, rather than on unrelated requirements.

Hebrew is my best second language. I haven't studied if formally in over thirty years, but I encounter it regularly on a casual basis. The SAT II in Modern Hebrew is only offered once per year, in June. Rumor has it that most of those taking this test are Israeli-born, and thus native speakers. This intimidates me, yet I am still motivated to try.

I am looking for a way to both improve and gauge my performance. I have taken the 38 question practice test offered by the College Board, and have their SAT II practice book.

Have you taken this test? How well did you do?
Are you a native Hebrew speaker? Are you a day school student?
What other materials have you found?
What useful preparation is out there?

Thank you. I appreciate any advice and leads you are able to share!

All the best,
CLKL
