I am new to this, just tell me if I understand correctly.
Every score is 11$ to send. So if you got 3 SATII you will need 33$ to send me. Assuming you apply to 8 schools that is 264$ just to send the scores?????
I understand that the 4 free schools are free only if you choose them on the time of the tests. That would not apply for tests taken in freshmen or sophomore year since schools are not decided yet. Right?
Also how old is a test to be classified as archived? Is a test taken freshmen year "old" by senior year? Then the fee triples up.
It slowly hits me how much all of this is going to cost me.....

No. When you send SAT scores to a school, the $11 fee covers all SAT I and SAT II scores you have taken to date.

So, it is $11 per school, not $11 per school per test.

Note: You get 4 free reports with each testing date you take a test. Use those wisely to save $$$'s.

If you take a SAT II test (such as biology) as a freshmen, when you report your Jr/Sr SAT tests, it will be included. That is very typical.

Thank you! I feel better!

I would like to clarify. Correct me if I am wrong. The 4 free scores submission when registering SAT2 is only for the SAT2 scores but not including the previous SAT1 scores. There is an option to include that though but there should be an additional charge. Otherwise, it would be cheaper to take one SAT2 and get 4 score submission than requesting them separately.

What if you paid $11 when you registered for SAT II to send the scores to 5 schools? Would only the 5th school receive all scores? All schools get all scores unless you limit the scores they receive.

Yes, it is cheaper to take 1 SAT II test ($35) than to send 4 scores ($44). I didn’t plan it that way, but D had to take one more SAT II test for school applications, and took advantage of it. Those schools received all scores.
