So collegeboard says that they send your scores for free to the first 4 schools, and then it costs extra after that. But I didn't put down the schools when I origionally registered for my past tests, and it seems like now I'd have to pay extra, even for the first 4 schools. Is this true? or am I just not smart enough to figure out how to do it online?

bump bump bump

The first 4 are free at testing time; scores go out when they are sent to you and your school. After that it is $x/score recipient.

the four free schools option is kind of useless unless you take the sat around application time.
if you took the sats in the january of junior year and selected a school to be sent to for free you must still send the scores on CB yourself.
the only thing colleges will do after receiving your scores under this option at such an early time is send you brouchures among other papers.

so that means i have to pay the $9.50 for each school if i didn't put the school names down when i took the sat in june?

Yup. it's a rip off. But here's a way around it. If you're taking any more SAT IIs this fall, you can save some money.
If you ask for your fall SAT II to be sent to 4 colleges, those 4 colleges will also get all previous SAT scores. That is all you need to do to send your June SAT 1 scores to those schools. IF you want to send the june scores or the fall SAT II scores to any additional schools you'll have to pay (and again you'd only have to pay for additional SAT IIs because if you send the SAT II your SAT I will be sent automatically)

that sucks. thanks for your replys

sorry for being such a pest, but i just thought of something...i'm taking the sat's again in october and plan to get them rushed to my 3 early decision/action schools. so couldn't i just send that, for free, and my old sat scores will still be there? oh, and im a bit confused about the whole rushing the scores thing, could someone explain to me how to do it and when the scores will get there?

you cant have 3 ed schools just to let you know so theyre probably all ea
look at each schools policy on rushed scores
some will allow and some won't
and i believe that your rushed score report will contain all your CB scores

thanks. yeah, one ED, 2 EA.

so it doesn't matter if I send SAT I or SAT II score report to college?

SAT I report has all SAT IIs, and SAT Is

and

SAT II report has all the SAT I and SAT IIs, right?

So I can just send SAT II score report that I'm taking in Oct. and all the CB scores will be on there right?

How do I rush scores?

Consider this, I saw it on a college's admission page, but, cannot recall which one:
Most colleges have accounts and CB compatable software. They download scores on a regular basis. Rushed scores cost the student $ and then are mailed to the colleges, who probably already have your scores in your file from downloading.
Do Not Rush!

mominva where did you hear that?
