SAT II Scores--is there a max I can send?

I'm not that familiar with the system. I know that competitive colleges ask for 2/3 SAT scores, and I already have two:
Bio: 770
Math IIC: 800

Right now, I'm using my summer to study for some SAT IIs, and I'm thinking of taking USH, physics, and/or French (I've taken Ap French). So first of all, suggestions? And is there a max number of SAT IIs I can send to colleges?

You usually only need two(or three max.) to apply to colleges. I wouldn't take more SAT2s than that unless you're positive you can score in the 770-800 range. Even then, it's not worth the effort.

When you opt to send SAT scores of any sort, all of your SAT I and SAT II scores will be sent. However, some colleges will only look at 2-3 (whatever number they require) scores and disregard the rest. Other colleges use SAT IIs not for admissions but for placement, and then it is to your advantage to take as many as you can where you can score above any cut-off the colleges have to skip a course.

will they look at the best ones?

I would like to ask the same question as abank.

College Board sends your last 6 scores; the others fall off. So yes, there is a maximum - it's six.

But there is no reason to take more than required unless you are not happy with your scores. Six will not make you more competitive than three.

Colleges should just look at your highest scores.

That's an interesting statement. I've heard some college admission officers say that the more, the better when it comes to SAT II scores reported by homeschooled applicants. I've not previously seen a statement that the practical maximum is six scores; is there a College Board Web page that mentions how many scores get sent to colleges? I wonder if a student who happened to take more than six tests could simply self-report all SAT II test scores, for whatever value that would have in the college admission process.

Here's the quote from the College Board FAQ site:

Do you report only the best scores?
Your score report is cumulative, meaning it contains your most recent score plus scores from up to six SAT and six Subject Test administrations. Most colleges only look at your highest scores./quote

Oh, okay, ADMINISTRATIONS, which might mean more distinct test scores for SAT II tests, do you think? Thanks for finding the link.

thanks. I have two sat II scores and don't like the first one, though I'm not likely going to take 5 more just to blot that one out. :)
