phz meaning "physics" of course

I still think it's really messed up that i got mid 600s on sat II in history and bio on may 7 JUST AFTER GETTING 5s on both bio/hist ON THE AP...

SAT II Bio M-720

SAT II Bio M/AP Bio

800/5

SAT II Math II: 760
AP Calc AB: 4

Heres what we have so far in numbers of data couples:

SAT II/AP

Lit/Eng lit = 4
Writing (old)/Eng language = 5
USH/USH = 60
World hist/World hist = 9
Math IIC/Calc AB = 15
Math IIC/Calc BC = 8
Bio/Bio = 15
Chem/Chem = 22
Physics B/Physics = 6
French/French = 1
Spanish/Spanish = 4

I made some assumptions on a few of these counts if the description was not complete in the post, and I discarded the data if I could not reasonably guess which test was reported.

Looks like we are approaching enough data certainly for USH, and perhaps for Math, Bio, & Chem to do some analysis, but we could sure use some more data, especially for the other subjects ..SO,

PLEASE KEEP POSTING

Also, anything English language or writing, bio E or M, calc AB or BC , or physics B or C, please report all, but make sure you note what the score is for ..e.g., old SAT 2 writing. If we have enough data collected over the next 10 days, Ill try to correlate every category.

Couple more data points:

Chemistry SAT II: 790 AP Chem: 5
SAT II Writing (old):780 English Lit: 5
SAT World: 710 AP Euro:5 (not exact, but some crossover)

AP/SATII

Chemistry: 5/770
US History: 4/650
Calculus BC/AB/Math Level 1: 4/5/770
Eng. Lang/writing: 3/710, essay 10

Lol, I think the discrepancy in the english lang and the writing SAT is kinda funny,

biology 770/5
us history 760/5

Papa Chicken, I think you will be able to get some good data here that will correlate fairly well on the surface, but I wonder what it will really mean other than that smart kids and/or good test takers tend to do well in both. I say this because I did not find the sat iis and the aps to be similar at all. I am surprised by just how different the two tests were from each other in both cases. This is particularly true for biology. I found the questions to be of a very different kind on each test and indeed I actually thought that of the two the sat was the harder one because the questions were more specific and often you either knew it or you didn't. The ap was more testing concepts and if you understood the concept, you could often figure out the correct answer.

Bio M 760/5
Writing 730/English language 3 :(

Physics 800/5 (B and both C's)
US History 800/5
Math IIc 800/BC Calc 6
Lit 790/Eng Lang (not lit)5

pyro.....how'd you get a 6 in BC Calc? Or is that a 5?

Math IIc 780/BC Calc 5
US History 770/5
Chem 780/5

heh yeah... I'm not that good. Just a 5

Math IIC: 800. Calc BC: 5 AB subscore: 4
Chem: 790/4 (but I was too complacent with my 790 to self-study any more chemistry for the AP)

Valid points, coldcomfort. Unlike the "improvement" assessed on the PSAT>>SAT1 and 1st new SAT1>>2nd new SAT1 threads, I think all we will get here is a look at how well SAT2 scores "fit" with AP scores for various subjects. What I think wil be of interest is a comparison of those fits by subject. I suspect, but have not studied the data yet to confirm this, that some subject SAT2/AP scores will line up better (e.g., less scatter, better correlation) than other subjects. In a way, I hope to prove or disprove what you've said by subject, assuming of course there are enough data to test. This could only help a AP test taker with SAT2 score in a certain range with an assuance that, as an extreme example, either (1) others always scored an X for AP with their SAT2 score, or (2) others scored mostly X with significant likelihood of X-1 or X+1. I hope the eventual analysis will show something interesting.....we'll see.
