Thank you for your honestly, I really appreciate it. The problem with UNC is that I live about an hour ouside of Phila. and I refuse to go to school anywhere more than four hours away from home (leaving after high school was a big mistake). Moreover, it is nothing against North Carolina, or the south for that matter, but I really want to move to a big city and live in a much faster paced lifestyle. I have already applied to these schools, so for now I will just wait on this. It is amazing how different opinions are on CC than the other college forums across the net. But finally, I will once again ask, as the primary intention of this thread, should I send these scores?????

i would say no -- don't send the scores. First -- it is doubtful they will be looked at in any positive light. When the schools said they don't accept retakes from those in college, did they specifically say SAT I or did they say SAT? A few colleges I checked on last year said that they do not accept SAT I or II or AP tests taken after the summer following the senior year of high school -- the tests are meant to be taken as a high schooler, not a college student.

second -- the literature test score and the explanation sounds lame and much like an excuse. I realize it makes sense to you -- but it is not going to come off well to an adcom.

I think you need to let the application stand as is -- without the additional test scores -- and see what happens. I think you have some really high reaches on your list, but if you were just giving it a shot to see what would happen and you are happy staying where you are, then you should be ok no matter what the results are.

^I agree. First, you are expected to know the rules of the SAT before you take it. I also hadn't caught the fact that you took both math I and II at the same sitting. They would think that's pretty strange.

What I said in my post earlier, perhaps not clearly, is that with the low SATI, I don't think an excuse is going to fly. If you had a 750 plus cr, maybe it would have. But a lot of people look at the lit test, read the poems and want to go home.

What you haven't answered is whether you're happy enough to stay at your current school. Otherwise, I'd really think twice about not applying to some other schools. Your 4 hour limit is really limiting yourself and your future, are you sure you don't want to rethink that too?

Also, are you saying that on other college sites they are telling you you'll get into these schools?

Look, long story short. This past year has been the worst of my life: I lost a very very close friend and I need to stay within the comfort of home. There is no way around it. I also did call the colleges before I took the test and they all said they would review SAT II scores taken from college applicants. My counsellor also informed me that there is no way these scores could hurt an applicant because they are not required, as they are taken optionally. Thank you all for your opinions, I am still undecided as to what I am going to do with these scores, but you all have given me some much needed insight and I appreciate it.

Also, no I am completely done with East Carolina and regardless of what happens I will be at a different school next year. If worst comes to worst, most of the PA state schools have rolling admissions, so I will just go to one of those and care A LOT less about academics....
